SCUBA diving in Rincon is the best in Puerto Rico due to our location close to great dive sites and Desecheo Island which is 12 miles offshore. Although it may take longer to reach, Desecheo Island is designated as a National Reserve Park and offers pristine diving conditions in a protected marine environment. Desecheo is known for its coral formations, reef fish, angels, jacks and even sharks.
With average water temperatures of 80º Fahrenheit and visibility up to 100 feet or more - Rincon has become a world-class SCUBA diving destination.

Whale Watching: One of the most spectacular sights in nature is the annual migration of Humpback Whales that takes place off the coast of Rincon every winter. The peak season is in February - but whale sightings are possible as early as December and as late as March. The Lighthouse Park is the best place to view the whales from land - although you'll see them through the waters off Rincon's beaches. If you prefer to see the whales up close - check with a dive shop or day sail tour for information on charter boat trips.
