Appointed in year 1999 World Heritage site by the UNESCO and known to the entire world for its yearly visitor the Southern Right whale, Península Valdés is surrounded by the Argentina Sea and the Gulfs San José and Nuevo. Puerto Pirámides, a small town by Gulf Nuevo, offers the essential services for tourists.

USHUAIA

The city of the End of the World

Placed at the Beagle Channel side and surrounded by the Martial Chain, this town offers a unique landscape in Argentina: a combination of mountains, sea, glaciers and forest. It is possible to go through the old part of the city, watching the typical fuegian architecture, as well as, the End of the World Museum and the Maritime Museum. Local painters, photographers and artisans, gather at the Culture House and the old Family Beban's Residence to show their works.

There is an interesting footpath to get to the base of the Martial Glacier for nature's lovers, from where you will have a wonderful view of the city, Beagle Channel and the glacier itself.

It belongs to the protected Andean Patagonian natural areas system, Tierra del Fuego National Park, is the southernmost (in Argentina) and limits in his occidental side with Republic of Chile. It was planned so as to give continuity to the protection given to the sub-Antarctic forest.

You don't want to miss the opportunity to take an optional tour by boat to see the whales that come to this area (between June and November). Return to Punta Delgada for a visit to the sea lion colony and Caleta Valdés where the sea elephants seem to have found their ideal natural habitat. Return to Puerto Madryn.

Day 4 - Ushuaia
Continental breakfast. Leave for the Tierra del Fuego National Park, located only 12kms from the city. In this National Park, we can find typical species of the Patagonian forest in an area of 63,000 hectares. Before going into the National Park, you need to take the Train to the End of the World for an unforgettable trip through the zone, taking a look at the Beagle Channel. Here the old inhabitants of the area left a testimony of their existence in "concheros", incredibly rich archeological storehouses. As an option, you can take an excursion through the Beagle Channel in a catamaran crossing Lapatia and the Bahía Ensenada.
